Councilman Seth Walsh is in his fourth year on Cincinnati City Council, where he serves on the Budget and Finance, Equitable Growth and Housing, and Climate, Environment and Infrastructure Committees. He also serves on the Cincinnati Retirement System Board of Trustees, making him the only candidate running for State Treasurer who has served on a pension board.
Seth spearheaded the creation of multiple economic development tools to incentivize development throughout the City of Cincinnati, ranging from the Quick Strike Acquisition Fund to the Economic Development Gap Financing Fund. He was also instrumental in creating the Cincinnati Sports Commission, pushing ODOT to accelerate the repair of the Big Mac bridge from three years to 100 days, saving the Ault Park Fireworks, and securing the overhaul of the snow removal system after the January 2025 failures.
Seth grew up in St. Joseph, Michigan, and moved to Cincinnati in 2009 to study Political Science at Xavier University, where he served as Student Body President. He launched the Sedamsville Community Development Corporation and then led the College Hill Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation. Under Seth’s watch, 110 housing units (98% affordable), nearly 20 small businesses, and countless community events came alive with more than $85 million in economic development funding secured—strengthening neighborhoods and supporting the workforce that calls them home.
Seth believes that by strategically investing in Ohio’s farmers, public sector employees and small business entrepreneurs, we can lead a resurgence of our neighborhoods and positive growth for all communities. As Treasurer of the State of Ohio, Seth will be an independent steward of taxpayer dollars, pensions and savings, lifting neighborhoods throughout the state.
He founded the Cincy Soccer League. He lives in downtown Cincinnati with his two dogs, Calvin and Rosie.
